In the
homes of Provence, Lavender was known as "Garde Robe"
which can be translated as "Clothes Guard" for its
hability to protect the content of wardrobes, drawers,
... from the damages of unfriendly moths !

Lavender Cicada
|
|
A Provençal "lucky charm",
traditionally hanging near the entrance door of
the house, outside or inside, or in the
kitchen.
We have selected the "Lavender" cicada. It
was born in Vallauris, where the Gullo family
has hand-painted its ceramic body with beautiful
lavender designs.
By the way, a cicada is
a "She" in France. Although, I guess, there must
be some "He" cicadas too, considering the
swarming number of them colonising the pine
trees of Provence every year !
